On September 18, 2025, a pro-Palestine demonstration gathered over 2,000 people at La Riponne in response to the conflict in Gaza.

The unauthorized protest quickly escalated into clashes with the police, involving tear gas, water cannons, overturned containers, and thrown restaurant chairs.

At the same time, an authorized silent march in support of Israel took place in Ouchy, remaining peaceful under heavy police supervision.
